If you own a classic car that is in need of restoration then why not use the spare time that you may have available at the moment due to the coronavirus pandemic to pay some attention to getting your cherished vehicle looking as new as is possible. It is probably a good idea to do such restoration work now as, when you are back in the office or on the shop floor, you may find yourself devoting a considerable amount of time to whatever it is you do from 9am to 5pm.
Of course, before committing time to getting your hands dirty under the bonnet of your vintage car or getting the spray paint out you will need to make sure that you can still lay your hands on any spare parts or paint as there may be an awful lot of suppliers that could be closed due to the lockdown as a result of the COVID-19. It may be possible to order spare parts online that you can arrange to collect or have them delivered.
Another thing to bear in mind is that if you would normally have a number of other classic car enthusiasts helping you with restoring your classic car then this is not something that you will be able to do in the current pandemic in view of the current social distancing regulations. However, if you are able to do the work yourself then you will be fine.
As the lockdown seems likely to continue for some time yet, you can probably afford to take your time with any works thus ensuring that you do a great job of restoring you vehicle.
Let us hope that by the time you have completed the restoration work that you will be able to show off your workmanship to fellow classic car owners and take your vehicle out for a Sunday afternoon drive.
On a final note, make sure that you have got suitable laid up classic car insurance in place whilst doing the works and to change it to the full level of cover once the restoration work is completed and you are ready to drive your vehicle on the roads.
