There are no doubt many classic car enthusiasts who are fans of the hit comedy television series Only Fools and Horses that featured David Jason as Del Boy and Nicholas Lyndhurst as Rodney. Well, if you are one of those people, you may wish to peruse the Silverstone Auctions website where you will find details of a 3-wheeler van that featured in the program that is being auctioned on a live auction on 27th March 2021. It is called the Race Retro Live Online Auction 2021.
The vehicle in question is a yellow 1972 Reliant Regal Supervan 111 and is believed to be one of 6 of these vehicles used in the TV series.
The classic 3-wheeler van was used by the brothers to store stock for the Trotters Independent Traders business as well as being utilized by the family.
You may be interested to read that it even comes with two red fluffy dice as well as an inflatable doll that featured in one of the episodes of Only Fools and Horses and a sign in the front windscreen saying “Tax in Post”.
It was a nippy little van being capable of reaching a top speed of around 55mph.
It has had some recommissioning work carried out to it with the brakes being dealt with and new tyres. It has had a number of owners over the years with the current owner having possessed it for 6 years.
