Many of you will probably be aware that the UK is celebrating the Queen’s 70 years of sitting on the throne with a 4 day bank holiday weekend that is from the 2nd to 5th June 2022. Apparently, there are many events being planned to mark what we are sure you will agree is a tremendous occasion.
If you have an interest in classic cars then we thought that you would like to know that the Rotary Club Of Bodmin is to hold an event involving classic cars. It is organising a run of 70 cars from Bodmin to Penzance on the 5th June 2022 to mark the Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
Each car taking part will have been registered in a particular year for each of the last 70 years so they are going right back to 1952. There will no doubt be some very interesting vehicles taking part in the social run. It is to be hoped that the weather will be kind to those taking part and hopefully there will be many thousands of people who are able to watch the vehicles go by at some point on the journey.
Apparently, for those taking part in what sounds like a wonderful occasion, they will need to pay an entry fee. However, not only will they hopefully thoroughly enjoy the event but will also receive a commemorative mug, a plaque in Monte Carlo style as well as a bacon butty.
If you are interested in taking part then why not take a look on the Bodmin Rotary Club’s website for more information including contact details.
If you know of any other events being planned to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in early June that involve classic vehicles then why not let us know at your earliest convenience. We very much look forward to hearing from you and we hope that you are able to enjoy that special bank holiday weekend.
