There is obviously a great deal of interest in classic Minis these days especially as one has recently been sold at auction for well in excess of its estimated sale price.
Classic Car Auctions sold a bronze yellow 1970 Austin Mini 1275 GT on Saturday 25th March 2023 that was found in a garage for £38,250. Apparently the price achieved was well above the price it was estimated to go for.
The classic vehicle has a mere 11,836 miles on the clock making it an extremely low mileage car. Furthermore, it has only ever had one owner with this being unusual these days and had been kept in storage for around 33 years. These factors no doubt contributed to the sale price it achieved.
The 1275cc GT Austin Mini has a manual gearbox with 4 gears plus reverse. It has a 4 cylinder A series engine and also has 10 inch Rostyle alloy wheels. This would have been a nippy car in its heyday and will hopefully become so in the future.
When you look at the photographs of this classic car on the auctioneer’s website it does appear to need a good wash and polish but the interior and bodywork’s condition is described as remarkable. Apparently, the engine will require some mechanical work doing on it to presumably hopefully restore it to its former glory.
Well, the classic Mini is now in someone else’s hands so let us hope that it is well looked after and it is not too long before it is taken out on the public road network here in the UK to be admired by many a passer by.
