Many of you who are classic car enthusiasts will have probably heard of and for that matter watch the Discovery channel program called Wheeler Dealers that features the well-known presenters Mike Brewer and Marc Priestley. The car show finds classic cars that are in need of some tender loving care, spends a considerable period of time in restoring them and then finds a buyer.
Well, the above two gentlemen were staying at a Premier Inn in Pontefract, West Yorkshire on Monday 26th June 2023 and had the rare 1979 MK1 Ford Fiesta 1300S with them. It was in a covered trailer. Regrettably it was stolen during the night.
The pair and the delightful classic car were due to attend a car festival called The Motorist at nearby Sherburn in Elmet, Leeds along with around 500 other vehicles.
The TV presenters put out a plea for help in finding this rare classic Ford. It will be interesting to see if the car is spotted by a member of the public very quickly. In view of the connection with the Wheeler Dealers TV show the thieves may keep it well hidden for quite some time. It will be interesting to know what they may do to the car so that if it ever does come out into the public domain it is difficult to spot.
